Coming Home: The Color of Us Relaunches in Raipur
A new edition, a first-ever hardbound, and a homecoming — The Color of Us begins its next chapter in Chhattisgarh.
When I first released The Color of Us, I did it independently — just me, these poems, and a faith that they would find the people who needed them. About six months later, Timeless Script House offered a traditional publishing deal, complete with a signing advance. It’s the kind of full-circle moment I used to write about for other authors on MissBookThief, never quite imagining it would be my own story too.
The Raipur event wasn’t just a relaunch, but a homecoming. That it was received by the warm and friendly team of TSH meant a lot to me. This new edition carries something special: for the first time, The Color of Us will be available in hardbound. There’s a particular joy in holding a book that’s built to last — to be shelved, gifted, returned to on the days the heart needs company. These poems were always about permanence of feeling; now they have a form to match.
To me, this chapter proves something I’ve believed for years: independent and traditional publishing aren’t rivals. They can be two stages in a single book’s life — the brave beginning, and the lasting next step. The Color of Us has lived both, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Chhattisgarh, thank you for the homecoming.
